Developing Besides Press as a forum for learning as well as publishing, we conduct educational workshops in order to share the multiple skill sets within our team to maximise the learning experience of the aspiring participants we teach.
Adaptability
Our workshops are highly flexible and can be tailored to suit your specific requirements. They can be delivered over a single day, across several days or a week, or spread over a longer period, and can also be adapted for remote delivery. We are happy to scale the workshop up or down to suit available time and budget, and to adjust its focus by incorporating taught sessions on design, curation, editing and sequencing, and creative picture-making.

About the Team
Michael Alberry is a photographer and editor. Michael's work has been exhibited internationally and published in publications such as Le Monde, Financial Times, British Journal of Photography, BBC, and Der Fluter. He was selected as one of Magnum Photos ‘30 under 30’ photographers. Michael holds a BA in Documentary Photography from University of South Wales, and an MA in Photography from the University of the West of England.
Harry Flook is a photographer, writer and lecturer. He has written for publications including British Journal of Photography, Splash and Grab and Loupe magazine, his photographic work has been published by Lamono Magazine, Photomonitor and British Journal of Photography. He has run a higher education photography course at City of Liverpool College, as well as working on UWE’s photography programme.
Tom Booth Woodger is a designer and photographer. Design has been Tom’s primary practice for the last four years, during this time he has designed, produced and printed over twenty publications. For him, book design is both collaboration and response: working together with artists to make a publication relies upon exhausting all possibilities in order to arrive at a best possible final form for the work to exist in.
Together we founded Besides Press in 2021.
